What batteries are required?

4 high quality AA batteries. Fresh, new batteries must be used. Generic batteries intended for low drain devices such as clocks or remote controls, or rechargeable batteries, are not recommended.

How long do batteries last?

The life of the battery of the sensor can depends on several factors including frequency of use of the sensor, type of batteries used, age of batteries, or if the can is left open for a long time.

How do I operate the unit?

Once the fresh, new batteries are installed, turn on the power switch and wave your hand for the lid to open automatically. The trash can has an LED indicator that counts down 6 seconds until the lid automatically closes.

First check to make sure the power switch on the unit is turned in the "on" position.Then check to make sure the batteries are properly installed, facing the right way, and none are loose or missing.
